Getting Started

I think I will start by calling this FamOps (It seems Home and Ops together was already taken) Another reason to possibly call this FamOps is because working in any IT related field we are often looked at by our families to provide the technical services our families need. I will start at the begining with the plan. Essentially the setup I hope to have is starting with a Docker Compose file with a configuration of the containers to use and the configuration of those containers. If this all goes well it may get upgraded to a full K8 cluster. Lets not put the cart before the horse though. We also need to have a plan for what we plan on what services we plan on seting up and the exposure of those services. Its important to think about this before we release these services so they are not exposed for the whole internet with no security in place for them. The services I plan on setting up are going to start with OpenVPN and possibly with BitWarden, OpenVPN will need exposure to the internet (thats kinda how VPNs work) BitWarden on the otherhand I do not want to be exposed to the internet and want it to either be only accessible by the VPN or the local home network. These will be the first two planned services.
